Privacy Policy
automate is a Chrome extension that carries out tasks on websites for you. It works on a site only after you have granted that site, and on the page in front of you while you are teaching it. This page says exactly what it reads, what leaves your machine, and what never does.
You describe a task in your own words, or do it once while the extension watches. From then on it reads the page it was set up for and works it the way you would.
To decide the next step it sends a description of that one page to LetBe.Ai. Your automations, your demonstrations and your history of runs stay on your own machine.
- Your account key: the key for your own LetBe.Ai account, so runs can be paid for from your balance. Kept in Chrome extension storage and sent only to letbe.ai.
- The page being worked on: what is on the screen, where each thing is, and the page's text, as a description. Sent to letbe.ai to decide the next step, for the page an automation is running on and only while it runs.
- What you demonstrate: when you choose to show a task, the pointer movements, clicks, scrolling and typing you perform on that page are recorded so it can be repeated. That recording stays on your machine; what travels is a description of it in words.
- Your automations: the task in your words, the schedule you chose, how far it may go, and any rules file you attached. On your machine.
- The log of what it did: each run writes down its steps and reasons in plain words, so you can read back what happened. On your machine, and you can clear it whenever you like.
- A note about each site: whether a site needed real browser input rather than simulated input, so later runs there start correctly. On your machine.
Because a page you automate may hold your own messages or details, the content of that page can form part of what is sent for the decision. Nothing is taken from any other tab.
- It does not collect your browsing history, and does not read pages you have not set an automation up for.
- It does not log your keystrokes outside a demonstration you started.
- It does not ask for your passwords, and it does not read them.
- It does not sell or share your data with anyone for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness or lending.
- It does not run anything downloaded from elsewhere: everything it executes ships in the extension package.
- It does nothing you did not set up, and it stops the moment you tell it to.
- No sites at all on install. Every site is asked for one at a time, later, when you set up an automation for it. Never set one up and nothing is granted.
- storage: keeps your automations, demonstrations and run log on your machine.
- alarms: runs an automation when you asked, and wakes one that has been waiting too long so it looks again instead of waiting for ever.
- scripting: puts the extension's page reader and input layer into the tab it is working in, including embedded frames, because the control you need is often inside one.
- tabs: finds the tab an automation belongs to, reopens its page on a schedule, and notices when you close it so the run stops rather than appearing to continue.
- notifications: tells you a run finished, or stopped because a decision is yours.
- activeTab: lets teaching work on the page in front of you, at the moment you press the extension's button, before any site has been granted.
- debugger: a few sites ignore input an extension generates. Where a press has provably done nothing, that same press is retried once as real browser input and the site is remembered as needing it. Only the commands that dispatch a mouse event, a key event or text are ever sent, and Chrome shows its own notice while it is in use.
- host access to letbe.ai: your account and the flow that decides the next step.
Page descriptions go to LetBe.Ai to run the scenario that decides the next step. LetBe.Ai uses model providers to do that work, and passes on only what that step needs. Nothing is sent anywhere else.
Everything the extension keeps is on your own machine, until you delete the automation or clear the log, which you can do at any time from the extension. Removing the extension removes all of it.
automate's use of information received from Google APIs, and of any data received through the extension, adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In plain words: what the extension reads is used to carry out the task you set up and nothing else. It is not sold, not transferred to anyone for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness or lending, and no person reads it except where you ask us to look at something, where the law requires it, or where it is needed to investigate abuse.
- Grant a site, or do not. Withdraw a site whenever you like from Chrome's own extension settings.
- Choose whether an automation finishes the task or stops before the final step and waits for you.
- Stop any run, delete any automation, and clear the whole activity log.
- Uninstall, and nothing of it remains in your browser.
